Fran Michaels Studio
Fran Michaels, Bronze belt buckles, cuffs and jewelry, Room 213A
I have a passion for bronze which began many years ago. As an art student I was immediately drawn to the art of bronze casting and the foundry became my home. Originally, I created large bronze figurative pieces. Eventually my work became more functional and was strongly influenced by ancient Chinese objects and ritual vessels. The buckles that I create today are inspired by the Chinese commitment to classic design, craftsmanship and attention to detail. I have a passion for bronze which began many years ago.
