My work focuses on nature and the human body. I am fascinated by the patterns that are present in all living things; both the physical forms and structures that repeat throughout nature, and the patterns that occur over time, across cycles and seasons. I use drawing as a means to document the world around me, and to gain a more intimate knowledge of the minute parts that make up the environment we all inhabit. I love looking at the veins in a leaf, the roots of a tree, the segments of an insect, the bones in a spine, and seeing how if you look closely enough, or zoom out far enough, there are common threads that can be found in all of them.

I am particularly interested in the role that the human body plays in relation to nature. Through sculptures and drawings I seek to represent all the small, intricate systems that create the vessel that we use to interface with the world. Humans often tend to think of ourselves as somewhat removed from nature, inhabiting our own separate world, when in reality we are deeply intertwined with all of the other beings around us. My work is a representation of the unique space human beings occupy in the universe; a position that can feel both powerful and larger than life, and simultaneously small, fleeting, and inconsequential.
