@alikatceramics
Alison Katinger is an emerging ceramic artist with a lifelong passion for creative expression. Her artistic background includes drawing, painting, sewing, construction, general fabrication, baking, and other hands-on creative pursuits, all of which have shaped her appreciation for color, texture, pattern, and form. Although her journey with ceramics is relatively recent, she has quickly become captivated by the versatility of clay and the endless possibilities it offers.
Alison is particularly drawn to the freedom of clay — it can be functional or purely ornamental, playful or sophisticated, whimsical or refined, and anything from everyday objects to expressive works of art. She loves exploring the many ways clay can be transformed through surface design, experimenting with texture, pattern, color, and a variety of styles and techniques. Working with clay has also taught her to let go of perfection and embrace the unexpected. Rather than striving for absolute control, she enjoys allowing the material, the process, and even the imperfections to become part of the finished piece. Her work is an ongoing process of discovery as she develops her own artistic voice and embrace the unexpected possibilities that emerge from working with clay.
